Google fixes an issue causing Android apps to crash with updates to Chrome and WebView

“We are aware of an issue with WebView causing some apps on Android to crash for some users,” Google said in a statement to The Verge. “We are currently working to fully validate the scope and a fix is in progress.”

A number of the most popular android apps are not working properly for thousands of users this morning – but there is a fix.

As of 9am this morning, Google had more than 470 problem reports logged with independent outage monitor Downdetector, a site which collects status reports from websites and apps. Cornwalllive.com

Updating Android System WebView and Google Chrome via Google Play should now resolve the issue for all users.

2. Search for Android System WebView
